  • Email is the best way for us to stay in touch. This allows us to keep track of everything discussed with a written record we can refer to. We typically respond to all emails within two business days. If we can’t answer your question through email, we’ll send a link to our calendar to further discuss trip details over the phone.

  • At Postcard Travel, we dedicate the necessary time and resources to ensure everything is in order for your trip. A typical trip takes about 30 hours to organize, and the work doesn’t end there. After the trip is planned, we monitor the journey, ensuring you have everything you need and double-checking every detail before your departure. When you work with an accountant, lawyer, personal trainer, interior designer, or any other service provider, you are used to paying a fee. It is the same concept for travel advisors. Our clients understand the value and time it takes to plan a fantastic vacation.

  • You will get the best availability and pricing by booking at least six to eight months in advance. Booking your trip nine months to one year out is ideal for bucket-list-type trips (think an African safari or a trip to Australia). These incredible experiences book up quickly! We can assist in booking trips 30 to 60 days before departure (based on availability) for an additional expedited trip fee. Trip requests less than 30 days before departure typically cannot be accommodated. View our vacation packages for more information.

  • We can certainly advise on flights, but most of our clients prefer to book on their own so they have direct contact with the airlines. Many of our tour suppliers provide internal country flight reservations if needed, and these flights would be included on your itinerary. We have access to an air desk on a case-by-case basis and will connect on your behalf if you wish. Air desks charge an additional flight booking fee.

  • Our suppliers have relationships with the hotels, tour operators, and transportation providers at the destination, which result in getting the best value for your money. We always consider your budget when curating itineraries, but we’ll never compromise experience to do so. We’re in search of the best travel experience for our clients…always!

  • We provide prices on itineraries whenever possible. However, our travel partners have individual relationships and arrangements with service providers at your destination, and we may not have access to the pricing for those specific experiences. Most often, you will see all pricing as bundled rates and not broken out by components. To be able to benefit our mutual clients better, our partners may not provide component pricing to protect their contracts. Therefore, Postcard Travel is not able to provide/disclose component pricing.

  • No. We find that piecemealing a trip together creates more work and confusion for you and our Travel Advisors. We want to ensure your entire vacation has the same quality, so we recommend keeping all your reservations together, partnering through every element of your trip.

  • We can certainly help with a villa, apartment, or larger accommodation within a specific budget for a large family needing more space. We work with vetted private home partners that allow us to be sure that the home you are reserving meets your preferences and our discerning standards. Unfortunately, we cannot use the same vetting process for an Airbnb or VRBO-type property. Although it may look great online, there is a risk that it’s not what you expected once you arrive. For this reason, we generally refrain from working with these types of properties.

  • Travel insurance is HIGHLY recommended for all trips. Travel insurance can provide coverage for trip interruption, trip cancellation, or cancellations for specifically defined reasons (such as trip delays, medical expenses, and lost baggage). We do not sell trip insurance but partner with travel insurance providers and can refer you to them. We will provide a quote for you once the final trip total is determined or you can directly click our affiliate link below. All questions can and should be directed to the insurance company as they define the terms. Most insurance companies require you to purchase coverage within two weeks of the initial deposit for maximum coverage.

  • Cancellation and modification costs vary by supplier. Modification policies will depend on how far in advance you wish to cancel or postpone your vacation. Any applicable cancellation and modification policies will be presented in your proposal. However, our planning fee is nonrefundable.

  • Since our work involves custom trip planning, the time spent on your trip is uniquely yours. Starting from scratch is absolutely possible but will require another trip planning fee.

  • Your final itinerary will be available 7-10 days before departure. You will receive a digital copy of all your information.
